The AutoCAD WS Facecast starts at 9am PST and you can view it right here without even accessing Facebook! During this FREE facecast, you will learn how you can use the FREE AutoCAD WS web and mobile application to view, edit, and share your AutoCAD drawings. Did I mention FREE?
What is AutoCAD WS? How can you use it to with DWG files on your iOS or Android mobile device? These are just some of the questions that will be addressed during a free Autodesk Facecast! Join Tal Weiss, head of the AutoCAD WS team and co-creator of AutoCAD WS, and Camille Caron, product marketing manager, to learn more about this FREE web and mobile application.
They’ll leave plenty of time for you to ask your own questions about AutoCAD WS or feel free to submit your questions ahead of time and they’ll do their best to answer them during the live Facecast.

Group functionality has been streamlined in AutoCAD 2012 making it easier to use. You can access the new Group tools from the Group panel on the Home ribbon tab.
The Group tool replaces the traditional Object Grouping dialog box with a simple prompt to select objects. You have the option of providing a group name and description. The Ungroup tool ungroups the objects. You can use the Edit Group tool to add and remove objects or to rename the group. These tools are also available from the right-click menu when a group is selected.
A Group Selection toggle allows you to control whether objects are selected individually or as a group.
Expanding the Group panel provides access to additional Group tools. The Group Bound Box controls how groups are displayed. When it’s enabled, AutoCAD displays a single grip and a bounding box around the group. The Named Groups tool displays the classic Object Grouping dialog box.
The Purge tool has been updated to support the purging of groups that contain no objects.

New Nudge functionality in AutoCAD 2012 lets you move selected objects a few pixels in an orthogonal direction. After selecting the objects, simply press Ctrl plus the appropriate arrow key up, down, left or right. The distance objects are moved is dependent on the current Snap setting. If Snap is off, objects move two pixels each time you press an arrow key. Therefore, if you’re zoomed way out in the drawing, one nudge can go a long way. If you’re zoomed far into the drawing, nudging may only move the objects a small amount in relation to the rest of the drawing. When Snap is on, the nudge increment is determined by the snap spacing.
