Autodesk has just announced the release of AutoCAD 2012 and the Autodesk 2012 product portfolio. AutoCAD 2012 includes many great enhancements to help you work more efficiently from conceptual design through documentation.
Use existing 3D models from a variety of file formats as a starting point for your designs in AutoCAD. Now you can import 3D models from many file formats including CATIA, JT, NX, Parasolid, Pro/ENGINEER, Rhino, SolidWorks, and more!
Generate intelligent 2D documentation for 3D models. If your drawing includes 3D solids or surfaces, whether they were created in AutoCAD or imported from other file formats, you can use the new model documentation tools to quickly create 2D drawing views. You can even produce 2D drawings from Autodesk Inventor files!
Establish and maintain a set of relationships between arrayed objects in 2D or 3D space. You can dynamically edit array properties even after the array has been created!
The power of multi-functional grips has been extended to more types of objects in AutoCAD 2012 providing easy access to relevant options for the selected object.
This is just the beginning! Download the AutoCAD 2012 Preview Guide to learn more about the powerful new functionality AutoCAD has to offer!
